Volusia County - Environmental SPECIALIST II- WORKING TITLE: SUSTAINABILITY AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Volusia County is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Specialist II – Working Title: Sustainability and Outreach Coordinator

This position is located in DeLand, Florida, and will be responsible for two key roles: 1) Overseeing and supervising the educational programs of the Be Floridian Now/Green Volusia Volunteer Specialist and the Explore Volusia Education Specialist; 2) Supporting the Sustainability and Resilience Manager in the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability and resilience initiatives and actions identified in the Sustainability Action Plan and Regional Resilience Action Plan, including the management of grants.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, Forestry, Zoology, Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, or related field; and (3) years of experience working with environmental ordinances, sustainability and resilience initiatives, or management and implementation of grants. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum education. Must posses a valid Florida Driver's License. The preferred candidate, having met the minimum requirements; will have at least two (2) years of experience developing and delivering environmental education programs.
