Environmental Specialist III: Develops stationary source air pollution permits and supports the Air Program Compliance & Enforcement functions for Air & Water Quality. These programs act to protect and preserve ambient Air Quality throughout Sarasota County through implementation of federal, state and local rules/regulations and through coordination with the source industries. Provides technical and financial management for the assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated properties.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the biological or physical sciences, Environmental Engineering or a related field AND three (3) years professional experience. A Master’s Degree can substitute for one year of professional experience. Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree.
Preferred Qualification: Prefer prior professional level work in FDEP stationary source air permitting, compliance and enforcement and petroleum cleanup is preferred.
